CCNU Calls on All Trade Unions to Calm Down

26 February 2014

Cambodian Council of National Unions (CCNU), along with different groups of trade unions and associations, called on all trade unions, organizations and associations to exercise restraint, awaiting the resolution of minimum wage issue by the principles of the Labor Advisory Commission (Tripartite) or other mechanisms of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

In a joint appeal, CCNU asked all workers-employees to remain calm and not to believe in the propaganda of some people to join strikes-demonstrations with political characteristic, which negatively affects their interests and time. Workers-employees gained nothing from the previous strikes-demonstrations led by a small group of trade unions, but the loss of daily wage, incentives and job.
