2 March 2015

Cambodia is studying the feasibility of another multi-functional offshore international port construction to boost the country’s export and import capacity.

The construction is aimed to be ready for use by 2022. To be located adjacent to the existing international port, the planned construction has the capacity to load the containers of 1.3 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The new port will stretch 600 meters long and stands above 15.5 meter sea depth. The existing international port can load containers of 350,000 TEU. It made the profit of over US$5.4 million in 2014.
