Cambodian, Thai Leaders Discuss Six Points of Cooperation

Cambodia’s Prime Minister and Thai counterpart thrashed out six points of cooperation during their bilateral talks held in Bangkok yesterday afternoon on the sidelines of the 5th Greater Mekong Sub region (GMS) Summit.

Cambodian premier requested for an urgent meeting of the Joint Task Force of the two countries relating to the establishment of special economic zones at the border areas of Cambodia’s Koh Kong province and Thailand’s Trat province, Cambodia’s Poipet and Thailand’s Aranyaprathet, and other areas. And he also proposed the opening of Stung Bat, a new border gate, and the transfer of financing. He also urged for a discussion on Cambodia-Thailand maritime overlapping area.

On the subject of the returning of Cambodian artifacts, Thai prime minister said if Cambodia found 70% of evidence confirming that the artifacts belong to Cambodia, Thailand would accept the request to repatriate them.
