Hungary Wishes to Establish Commercial Representative Office in Cambodia

Hungary is willing to create a commercial representative office in Cambodia to seek trade and investment partners, particularly in the field of tourism services. The Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary will pay a visit to Cambodia in November this year to further promote the economic and trade cooperation between both nations.

PPSEZ sets sights on German manufacturers

Having established itself with Japanese automotive parts manufacturers is going forward it will target German companies with similar operations, to increase investments at its current and proposed Poipet economic zones. Once listed, PPSEZ will enjoy a three-year 50% tax break, which was announced by the government early 2014, in a bid to encourage companies to list on the fledgling exchange.

Tourist Cruise Ship “Dawn Princess” Docks at Preah Sihanoukville International Seaport

The tourist cruise ship “Dawn Princess” with some 2,000 multi-national tourists on board docks at Preah Sihanoukville International Seaport this morning for a one-day visit in Cambodia. Coming from Vietnam, the ship will leave Cambodia for Thailand this evening.

Commerce Ministry to Launch Magazine Soon

The Ministry of Commerce will begin publishing a news magazine early next month to promote its activities and provide information on market developments. In May, the National Police began printing a daily newspaper focused on crime and security, while in June, the Interior Ministry’s immigration department announced plans to launch its own news service.

Angkor earnings dip

Visitors over 1.23 million foreign tourists visited Angkor temples, January to July, this year, an increase of 2% over the same period last year. The Angkor Archeological Park is the main tourism attractions in Cambodia, well ahead of coastal areas and the ecotourism sites in the northeastern part of the country.

Kampot Peppers Grow Incomes - For a Few

Kampot’s total pepper output almost doubled to 60 tons this year compared to the previous year’s 32 tons. There are three types of peppers: black, red and white. Prices of all are going up. The Kampot Pepper Promotion Association has 242 independent farmers and 17 companies, both international and local.

Bank Deposits and Loans Increase During First Semester of 2015

Half of this year, the banking and financial institutions in Cambodia have seen an increase both in deposits and loans. Up to now, Cambodia has 36 commercial banks, 11 specialized banks, 8 foreign bank representative offices, about 40 registered microfinance institutions and some other credit institutions.

The Bay Towers to Emerge in Phnom Penh

Cambodia Attracts 99 Investment Projects from Japan

Until June 2015, Cambodia has received 99 investment projects from Japan with a total investment capital of almost US$700 million.
