Discussion on Feasibility Study for New International Port at Sihanouk Province on the Way

Cambodia is studying the feasibility of another multi-functional offshore international port construction to boost the country’s export and import capacity.

The construction is aimed to be ready for use by 2022. To be located adjacent to the existing international port, the planned construction has the capacity to load the containers of 1.3 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The new port will stretch 600 meters long and stands above 15.5 meter sea depth. The existing international port can load containers of 350,000 TEU. It made the profit of over US$5.4 million in 2014.

Cambodia Expecting Draft Policy to Promote National Currency

Cambodia is expecting a draft policy to promote the use of national currency 2015-2020 – the guide that will gradually reduce the country’s dependency on foreign currencies. The National Bank of Cambodia, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Ministry of Commerce are actively engaging in the development of the milestone document.
