Cambodia
Bayon Airlines says it is getting closer to a launch date for its domestic
services. Cambodia Bayon Airlines plans its launch by the end of the year.
We will
fly scheduled services from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap on the hour, while flights
from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville will be scheduled twice daily. The airline
will soon lease two Ark 60 aircrafts from the state-owned Aviation Industry
Corporation of China (AVIC). This new aircraft can carry up to 50 passengers
and the company plans to expand its fleet to five planes by the end of 2015.
The firm
is in the process of applying for an Air Operators Certificate from the
Secretary of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation of Cambodia (SSCA). Currently,
only Cambodia Angkor Air and the little-known Siem Reap-based operator,
Skywings Asia Airlines, have valid AOCs.
