The
premium revenue of Cambodia’s insurance sector increased some 21% in the first
half of 2014 over the same period last year.
Jan-Jun
2014 the sector earned a premium revenue of US$27 million. The data showed that
the first-largest jump was fire insurance of US$9 million, followed by motor
and car insurance of more than US$4 million, engineering and construction
insurance of over US$3 million, and health insurance of some US$2 million. Cambodia’s
insurance sector has seen notable progress. Last year, the total premium
revenue of the sector was US$43 million, while the total assets reached US$111
million. This sector employs about 3,500 workers.
Cambodia
has currently six general insurance companies, a reinsurance company, and three
life insurance companies.
