Women account for about 60 percent of the
total workforce in the country’s tourism industry. Those female workers have
been currently working in different services including hotels, airlines,
transports, restaurants, etc. Referred to as the “Green Gold”, the tourism
sector is considered by Cambodia as a nascent industry which has rapidly become
an important engine of growth for the country’s economy.
