The European Union (EU) has provided
new financing of € 37.3 million (US$ 46.63 million) to support education sector
in Cambodia.
The financing agreement for the
EU-Cambodia Education Sector Reform Partnership 2014-2016 between Cambodia's
Education Minister and the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Cambodia. Up
to €32 million of the agreement will be provided through the 'budget support'
modality, annual transfer of money to the national treasury in support of
progress made in the education sector and in the management of public funds. The
remaining €5.3 million is mainly provided through the Capacity Development
Partnership Fund (CDPF), the only fund in the sector dedicated entirely to
capacity and institutional development.
