The trade exchange volume between Cambodia
and Japan in the first 11 months of this year reached some US$945 million.
First 11 months of 2014, Cambodia’s exports
to Japan were valued at US$716.7 million, up 31.5%, while its imports from
Japan were amounted to US$228.5 million, an increase by 19.3%, if compared to the
same period of 2013. The main Cambodian products exported to Japan are clothes,
footwear, agricultural and fisheries products, whereas the imported products
from Japan are mainly cosmetics, machinery, vehicles and electronic devices.
A local economist estimated that the
bilateral trade between the two countries would reach some US$1 billion last
year. The major markets for Cambodian products are the European Union, the
U.S., Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, and its neighboring countries.
