ICT federation launched in Cambodia

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Federation was inaugurated here on Thursday with an aim to advance Cambodia to a digital age.

The secretary of state of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication said the federation would be a main partner to work with the ministry in developing the ICT industry in Cambodia. Chairman of the ICT Federation, said the agency would strive to mobilize all IT companies to advance Cambodia into a digital age. Cambodia has seen rapid growth in mobile phones in the last five years.

The country has the population of 14.8 million, but the mobile phone has reached 20.2 million last year, up 6% year-on-year. Besides, the country has about 27 internet service providers serving around 2.7 million users.
