$50 Mil Japanese Hotel Planned

On the back of continued economic growth and increasing tourism into the country, Japanese-owned Starts (Cambodia) Corporation announced yesterday that it was beginning construction of a four-star hotel in Phnom Penh. According to the Ministry of Tourism, tourism to Cambodia increased 2.6 percent in the first half of the year over the same period last year, to 2.36 million. Almost 91,000 were Japanese visitors, an increase of 3.6 percent.
