The Council for the
Development of Cambodia (CDC) and EU Commission had discussed the draft
Cambodia-EU development cooperation joint strategy for 2014-2018. According to
CDC, the meeting is mainly aimed to discuss the above-said draft joint
strategy, which is the first of its kind to facilitate the effective use of the
EU’s resources by respecting the Cambodian government’s mastership in line with
commitments agreed during the summits in 2005, 2008, and 2011. This strategy
focuses on cooperation in the prioritized sectors including human resource
development, sustainable and equitable economic growth, infrastructure,
governance, and other inter-sectoral issues such as public administrative and
financial reform, and so on, CDC pointed out.
