Cambodia has a paddy
rice surplus of 4,820,000 tons or equivalent to 3,080,000 tons of milled rice
in 2013, up 1.96% compared to 2012, according to 2013 food balance assessment. According
to report, rice cultivation achieved 3,052,000 hectares of cultivated land area
in 2013, up 1.49% compared with 2012. Besides rice planting, other
agro-industry plants including cassava, corn, sugar cane, and tobacco were
planted on over 941,000 hectares of land areas, with 1,540,000 tons of total
product, an increase about 13.67% compared to 2012.
