A new World Bank
report shows that Cambodia is among the top ten low-income performers in terms
of improving trade logistics, although its timeliness has deteriorated. The
Logistics Performance and Indicators released at the end of last week shows
that Cambodia's overall score rose from 2.56 points in 2012 to 2.74 points this
year.
For customs,
Cambodia's score climbed from 2.30 points in 2012 to 2.67 points in the latest
survey. In other areas, the county's scores improved from 2.20 to 2.58 for
infrastructure, from 2.61 to 2.83 for international shipments, from 2.50 to
2.67 for logistics competence and from 2.77 to 2.92 for tracking and tracing. But
for timeliness, the report said Cambodia's score dropped from 2.95 points in
2012 to 2.75 points this year. It was also down from 3.05 points in 2007.
In a statement, the
World Bank said the general trend was that low-performing countries were
improving their overall scores faster than high-performing countries.
