The Asian
Development Bank (ADB) will provide nine poor rural provinces in Cambodia with
year-round access to markets and social services through a 118 million U.S.
dollars project to provide a safer.
The 118
million U.S. dollars financing package includes a loan of 54 million U.S.
dollars from ADB, a loan of 41 million U.S. dollars from the South Korean
government, a grant of 6.6 million U. S. dollars from the Australian
government, and grant co-financing of 5.4 million U.S. dollars from the Nordic
Development Fund. The Cambodian government will finance the remaining 11
million U.S. dollars cost of the project.
The
project will upgrade these mostly gravel roads to paved condition in nine
provinces Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong
Speu, Kampong Thom, Pursat, Siem Reap and Takeo.
