In the
first semester of this year, the bilateral trade between Cambodia and the
United States reached some US$1.55 billion, an increase by 7.6% compared to the
same period last year.
During
that period, Cambodia’s export to the U.S. was valued at US$1.4 billion, up
about 5.8% from US$1.32 billion in the first six months of 2013, while the
total amount of the country’s import from the U.S. was at US$157 million, up 26%
from US$124.6 million. Also Cambodia exported products to Japan with a total
value of US$345 million, up 43.5 %, and the country imported goods from Japan
with a total amount of US$110 million, up 3%.
Cambodia’s
major exported products include garment and textile products, agricultural
products such as milled rice, pepper, etc. and the main imported products are
vehicles, medicines and medical equipment, machinery, electronic products and
so on.
