Hun Sen Reaffirms Cambodia’s Economic Growth

1 March 2014

“It is clear that Cambodia is enjoying peace, political stability, security, order in society and development in all sectors. Notably, we recorded economic growth of 7.6% in 2013. GDP reached US$15 billion and GDP per capita increased to US$1,036 in the same period. Moving forward, economic growth is projected to exceed 7% per annum in 2014 and in the medium term,” - Prime Minister Hun SEn on 1 March 2014 at the closing session of 2012-2013 Tourism Stocking and Direction Setting Conference: “Cambodia’s Tourism Toward ASEAN Integration 2015″ and Celebration of the National Day of Clean City

Recently, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that Cambodia’s economy would grow by 7.2% this year, and 7.5% next year.

IMF said Cambodia’s economic activity remained strong, driven by robust exports, tourism and construction despite recent floods and some slowdown during the election period.
