Cambodia
and Thailand are supposed to officially begin the construction of a railway
bridge crossing the border between the two countries late next week.
The
groundbreaking ceremony of the railway bridge construction project was
scheduled after the site visits of the two countries’ officials lately with an
exit meeting at Poipet city in the Cambodian northwestern province of Banteay
Meanchey on Friday last week. In the meeting, Undersecretary of State for
Public Works and Transport discussed with the representative of Railway Company
of the Thai side on the selection of location for the upcoming groundbreaking
ceremony.
The new
move will further assist trading between Cambodia and Thailand, especially when
the two neighbors are part of the 2015 ASEAN Economic Community.
