Nations human rights expert for Cambodia has welcomed the political
breakthrough reached between the two main political parties in Cambodia.
Cambodian
People's Party (CPP) and CNRP reached a landmark agreement on Tuesday aimed at
ending a year-long political crisis following a parliamentary election in July
last year. The CNRP's 55 lawmakers-elect agreed to end their boycott of
parliament after CPP agreed to electoral reforms, power-sharing in parliament
and an opposition TV channel.

Nations human rights expert for Cambodia said it efforts towards reforming the
state's institutions, and hoped the two parties will undertake reforms on
principled grounds instead of being guided by temporary political expediency.
