Cambodia
has seen a trade deficit of 1.41 billion U.S. dollars in the first six months
of this year. Total trade volume reached 8.95 billion dollars early 6 months this
year, an increase of 17% from 7.61 billion dollars.
Of the
figures, the country's export rose by 20% to 3.77 billion dollars, while import
went up by 16 percent to 5.18 billion dollars, leading a trade deficit of 1.41
billion dollars. Cambodia's main trading partners are the United States,
European countries, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and
Malaysia. Garment products accounted for over 80 percent of the country's total
exports.
The MOC of
Cambodia has been working actively to attract more investors and to seek new
international markets for Cambodian products in the hope of narrowing trade
deficit in the future.
