A workshop
on incentive policy for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) was conducted
here on 15 July with an aim to set up a business environment pattern to
facilitate the SMEs’ capacity building and service promotion through providing
consultations and information to SMEs.
The
workshop, jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft in
collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), was held in
the presence of Senior Minister and Minister of Industry and Handicraft and Chief
Representative, JICA Cambodia Office. According to a report, SMEs have been
playing a crucial role in Cambodia’s economic development by providing jobs to
some 70% of the Cambodian people and SMEs contribute 58% to the country’s GDP.
