Agriculture tycoon Mong Reththy yesterday confirmed a
second shipment of Koe Romeat mangoes, twice the size of the first, will be
headed for China this week from his Preah Sihanouk plantation. Mong Reththy
said he received the order soon after sending the first order of 23 tonnes on 6 April 2014. He added that that he anticipates expanding to Korea and
Japan.
PRL Co, a dried mango producing company in Kampong Speu province, welcomed the news, but said unfit sanitary standards and poor fruit quality had hampered Cambodian mango traders’ ability to export to international markets in the past.
