In the
first nine months of this year, Cambodia’s garment, textile and footwear output
reached US$4,730 million, of which US$740 are for local consumption.
The output
value represented an increase of 11% if compared to the same period last year. During
the January-September period, it added, some 150 new factories have been
registered at the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, up about 21% over the
same period of 2013, bringing the total number of factories to 1,257 with
761,3000 workers as of September 2014.
