Cambodia is planning to ban the imports of second-hand cars that exceed
10 years old. This plan was revealed by the Minister of Industry and
Handicrafts. The request for the ban of non-eco-friendly cars older than ten
years will be sent to the Royal Government of Cambodia for consideration and
approval.
In 2012, Cambodia had some 37,723 registered cars, up 12.57 percent if
compared to 2011, according to the figures of the Ministry of Public Works and
Transport.
