Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance has recently announced to
exempt the customs fees for milled rice exports to boost the sector so as to
achieve the country’s target of exporting 1 million tons of milled rice export
by 2015. The exemption of rice customs fees will come into force from 1 May 2014
onward.
Last year, Cambodia exported nearly 400,000 tons of milled rice to the
international markets, up 84 percent over 2012.
