Vietnam is willing to
learn about Cambodian blue helmet troops’ activities, said Gen. Nguyen Anh
Dzung, Military Attaché at the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia. Vietnam will
send a delegation to Cambodia to meet and draw experience on peacekeeping
operations (PKO) from Cambodian experts at the National Center for Peacekeeping
Forces, Mine, and Explosive Remnants of War Clearance (NPMEC).
He said that in the
near future, Vietnam will establish a PKO center as in Cambodia adding that his
country has dispatched some observers for the UN peacekeeping operations in
South Sudan. Since 2006, Cambodia has sent over 1,800 troops to take part in
the UN peacekeeping missions in Sudan, Central Africa, Chad, Lebanon, Syria,
South Sudan, Cyprus and Mali.
