Cambodia’s King wants to see a solution to the current deadlock

1 April 2014

King Norodom Sihamoni has stated in his official statement that he hopes the National Assembly will continue to address the current political deadlock in order to determine a shared path for all involved political parties.
His message was read out in the second planetary session of the National Assembly today. The King also wants to see all parties to work together. His majesty wants Cambodia to maintain peace, stability and social order that lay the foundation for development, which can be achieved through the upholding of democracy, pluralism and mutual understanding.

Cambodia is currently in the political deadlock as the opposition CNRP is boycotting the parliamentary sessions and demanding a fresh election, arguing that there were too many irregularities in the last July election.
