Cambodia’s Report on Biodiversity and Nature Protection to UN

1 April 2014

Cambodia planned to send a report on biodiversity situation and nature protection areas to UN as a foundation for seeking the support for more effective protection and conservation of priceless resources.
This is the obligation of Cambodia to provide the report on its activities and performance being achieved in the past to the Secretariat of UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity as the basic of universal assessment on biodiversity situation and impact.

The report focused on the biodiversity situation, wildlife, nature protection area and forest situation, all of which is the country’s priceless resources being under threat, therefore all of us need to adhere the firm protection and conservation. The country made progress in protecting and conserving the resources through the project implementation and an effort in cooperation with the national and foreign partners to ensure the sustainability of resources for the human being.

It is noted that Cambodia has been a member of UN’s convention on biological diversity for nearly 20 years and each of the signatory countries has to submit the report on the practical situation of biodiversity protection and conservation to the Conference of the Parties (COP) for discussion.
