The CIMB Asean Stock Challenge returns for the fifth year with registration opening on September 15 this year for undergraduate student teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.

CIMB Group Chief people officer said Cambodians can now join their counterparts to vie for the grand prize of US$12,000 (RM38,000) in cash. The CIMB Asean Stock Challenge, the first of its kind annual online trading competition, will commence at the start of the trading hours 6-24 October.

For the national round, the top three teams from each country will be awarded with cash prizes of US$400 to US$800 and required to submit their trading strategies paper for evaluation. The team with the best strategy paper from each country will then proceed to the grand finale at the Stock Exchange of Thailand on 8 December 2014.

The CIMB Asean Stock Challenge, an annual event since its 2010 debut, has grown in popularity among students in the region, with a record-high participation of 911 teams last year.
