Ministry of Posts and
Telecommunications late last week announced the completion of it information
and communication technology master plan.
Taking 18 months, the ICT
master plan development was financed by Korea International Cooperation Agency
(KOICA) through the technical support of the Korea Information Society
Development Institute (KISDI). The master plan aims to ensure high quality
corresponding to the international standard with reasonable price and wide
service coverage.
The master plan, worth some
US$2 million, puts priority on e-government, CamCERT (the National Computer
Emergency Response Team for Cambodia) and e-economy.
Setting up system networks for
tourism and for education programme development for teachers and students are
also the scope of focus of the master plan. The endeavour is meant to align the
information and communication technology in Cambodia to the ASEAN ICT master
