The BRED, the second biggest French Commercial bank, led by visiting Mr. Rene Desjardins, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BRED in Thailand, seek market opportunity in Cambodia.
During a meeting with Information
Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith recently, Mr. Rene Desjardins aimed to open
BRED’s branch in the upcoming because of the development in bank markets in
Cambodia. Mr. Rene Desjardins said that BRED has its headquarter in Thailand
and branch in Laos, adding that BRED has 12.25% of shares in ACLEDA Bank Plc.
Furthermore, BRED plans to
train Cambodian students in banking and later employ them to work in the bank. For
his part, Minister of Information expressed his support to the BRED’s plan, and
encourage BRED to run its branch as fast as possible because Cambodia’s
economic and trade are now progressing.
