Japan Provides Some US$2.4 Billion to Cambodia in a Decade

Japan has extended approximately US$2.4 billion as financial assistance to the Royal Government of Cambodia from 1992 to 2013.

Japan’s financial aid to Cambodia accounted for some 16% of the development partners’ total financial assistance to Cambodia. Japan has been playing a main role in the development of Cambodia. In 2013, Japan provided a total of US$156 million to Cambodia, including US$113 million in grant aid and US$43 million in concessional loan, and Cambodia is expected to get a similar amount this year.
